Lady Monsters Dominate Glendale and Yavapai; Baseball Faces Tough Battles in Tucson

  

 

In softball action, the Lady Monsters triumphed over Glendale in both clashes after a weather-induced postponement. Alexandra Genty stood out with four hits in game one, while Angelina Santiago had 3 runs and Ocearn Matthews with two rbi's and a homerun made significant contributions. Game two saw Gianna Villegas with 3 hits, 3 runs and Rachel Losefo with 3 rbi's leading the charge.

 

The momentum continued as the Lady Monsters faced Yavapai, securing victories in both games. Alexandra Genty with 3 hits and 5 rbi's and Braelynn Kaulu ChoyFoo starred in the first game with 4 runs, while freshman Ariana Aguirre made an impact in game two with 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 rbi's.

 

 

Eastern Arizona College's baseball team traveled to Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, April 6, for a challenging doubleheader against Pima. Coach Kimball commented on the first game, stating, "We got a great pitching performance from Aaron Gutierrez, but unfortunately so did their pitcher."

 

In game one, despite Gutierrez's efforts, the team fell short with a final score of 1-2 in favor of Pima. Drew Wellington led the offense with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 1 RBI.

 

Game two ended with a score of 2-12 in favor of Pima. Coach Kimball expressed optimism for future games, saying, "We are looking forward to some big games coming up. We need to take care of business."

 

In the second game, sophomore Julius Ryan had 2 hits, while sophomore Jonas Rogers contributed 1 run, and freshman Jalen Ryan secured 1 RBI.

 

As they gear up to defend their home turf against Central Arizona and Cochise College on April 9th, both softball and baseball teams aim to deliver thrilling performances for their fans.
