Monsters Drop the Ball at Cochise
The EAC baseball team faced off against Cochise College in a thrilling matchup on February 13, 2024.
Game 1 ended in defeat of 5-6 to Cochise in 7 innings. Cochise came back at the bottom of the 7th to win it.
Game 2 ended in defeat with a final score of 0-10, Cochise.
"As far as regular season losses are concerned... the game 1 loss was one of the toughest I've ever been a part of. Not just the way we lost... but also the fact it was the first conference game of the year and my first conference game at EAC. We played really well for 6 ½ innings. Going into the bottom of the 7th we were feeling good. We had just scored 3 runs to take the lead. The guys were fired up. We got the first guy of the inning out... and then things got sideways really quickly. We had trouble throwing strikes and their hits found some holes. That's baseball sometimes. Unfortunately, that loss kind of bled into the second game. I could tell the guys were a little shell-shocked. I thought we needed to score first to get some momentum going. That didn't happen though... and things didn't go well from there. We will learn from it and we will bounce back," Coach Kimball.
The EAC baseball team is gearing up for their next challenge against Arizona Western on Saturday, February 17th. Fans can anticipate another exciting doubleheader as the team continues to strive for victory.
