Baseball Splits with Cochise

In a doubleheader showdown between Eastern Arizona College and Cochise College on April 9th, Eastern Arizona managed to secure a hard-fought victory in Game 1 but fell short in Game 2.

Coach Kimball stressed the importance of these games for his team's playoff hopes. Despite the loss in the second game, he commended his players for their resilience throughout both contests.

Offensively, Miles Vandenheuvel, Jonas Rogers, and Octavio Mendivil stood out for Eastern Arizona. Their contributions helped the team rally from deficits during the day.

However, defensive struggles, particularly with walks and errors, proved costly. Injuries to key pitchers, including Jonah Reich, further challenged the team's efforts. Relief pitcher Brandon Napier had a solid performance in Game 1.

Looking forward, Coach Kimball remains hopeful about his team's playoff chances but acknowledges the need for wins and some luck in the remaining games of the season. The team faces Arizona Western on Saturday, April 13th.
