Monsters Sign U.K. Forward
Eastern Arizona College Men's Basketball Head Coach Cameron Turner has announced the signing of 6'7 freshman Guard/Forward Dijarn Russell-Walters from Nottingham, United Kingdom.
"Dijarn is one of the top youth players in Great Britain." Head Coach Cameron Turner said. "He is a highflyer with a motor for days. Dijarn's versatility will translate on both sides of the ball. He can play multiple positions as well as guard multiple positions on the floor. He will bring a lot of toughness to our program. I'm excited to get Dijarn on campus and get to work!"
Dijarn was named Most Improved Player in the northern conference, Nottingham Academy's Most Improved Player, Great Britain U18 European Championship Selection (Starter), 1st Team All-Northern Conference, Hoop Fix All-Star Selection, and Nottingham Academy's Defensive Player of the Year.
"The main reason I chose EAC was because of the constant communications between Coach Turner and me," Russell-Walters said. "It was like other coaches but the thing that stood out to me the most was Coach Turner wanting to know more about me as a person and him emphasizing how he could help me achieve my future goals. That paired with the family environment made Eastern Arizona an easy choice for me!"
The 6'7 forward averaged 10.3 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 4.3 apg, and 4.3 spg his senior year. He will join the 2023-2024 class and is looking to keep the ball rolling following a 21-10 finish in 2022-2023. #GoMonsters
