Men's Basketball Signs Xzavier Baker from Anchorage, Alaska

Head Coach Cameron Turner has announced the signing of 6'5 Freshman Wing Xzavier Baker from Anchorage, Alaska.  

"I am excited to coach another Alaskan." Coach Turner said, "Alaska has a special place in my heart. I coached there for 6 years, and my kids were born there. Xzavier is Alaskan tough, strong, and knows how to win." "X will turn heads with his style of play. Best of all, Xzavier is a great person and will fit our Gila Valley community."  

Xzavier is coming off a stellar senior season that saw him named, Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-State, First Team All-Region, Player of the Month of March, Player of the Game in the State Tournament, MVP of the Clarke Cochrane Christmas Classic, All-Tournament Player of the Alaska Airlines Classic Tournament, All Tournament Player of the Dimond Prep Shootout, All Tournament Player of the Denali State Bank Ice Jam, and Athlete of the Month of December. 

"I chose Eastern Arizona because I feel like it will be a great fit for me," Baker said, "I know that Eastern Arizona will provide me with opportunities for the future."   

The 6'5 Wing averaged 15PPG, 1.5APG, 9rbpg, 2SPG, and 3 blocks per game. Baker led his Dimond high school team to a 13-1 conference record and an overall record of 25-4. Baker will look to help elevate Eastern to a new level and build on their 21-10, 2022-2023 record. Monster Nation let's welcome Xzavier Baker to the family!
