Men's Soccer Defeats Glendale

Eastern Arizona traveled to Glendale Community College on Tuesday, September 19th. The Monsters were the first to get a point on the board 21 minutes into the game.

"The play developed with a quick combination of passes through the mid ending with a great feed from Tajay Cummings down to the line onto Ronardo Burgher's foot for a breakaway", says Coach Peters. 

The battle continued into the second half where GCC found the foot of #7 Nelson Gomez Rodriguez near the goal played behind the Monster's back line from the top of the 18. The Monsters turned up the pressure scoring two goals in quick succession through quick combinations and breakaways. 

The Monsters scored in the 68th minute with a fast build-up from the midfield to Ronardo Burgher who slotted the ball through for a composed finish from Anthony Berrios. Two minutes later Ivan Felix picked up a pass and found the foot of Joao Martins da Silva open in the box. 

GCC was awarded a penalty kick to bring the game 3-2 after much back-and-forth action. 

The Monsters travel again on Saturday, September 23rd to battle South Mountain Community College who are 1-2-1 in conference this season. The Monsters are 4-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference.
