EAC Men's Soccer Defeats South Mountain

EAC Men's Soccer Defeats South Mountain

Eastern Arizona College men's soccer team hit the road this weekend to battle South Mountain CC. The game started off slow with EAC missing multiple shots in the first half. South Mountain struck first when they picked up a misplayed ball through the midfield. The game remained 0-1 heading into the second half.

In the second half, the Monsters only allowed one shot with a strong defensive effort. Bruno Hurtado Antelo opened up scoring after James Kawakye dribbled from the midfield and took a shot from 30 yards out. Bruno stepped up and finished off the rebound. Shortly after Ronardo Burgher scored a composed finish from 6 yards out after Leonardo Passos Aquino dribbled the end line and made a pass to the unmarked player.

Samuel Nunes De Araujo sprinted through the backline after receiving a sharp pass from Carrick Stewart. Samuel slid the ball calmly into the corner of the net.

Finally, with 10 minutes remaining Joao intercepted a pass near the midfield and spotted Roberto Arballo for a pass, Roberto back heel flicked the ball to Derek Nabor who took two quick touches to find Leonardo Passos Aquino streaking through the defense. Leo brought the final score to 4-1 for the Monsters.
