Alexis Aguirre Receives Head Coach Title

Coach Alexis Aguirre has officially solidified her position as the head coach of Eastern Arizona College's softball team, leaving behind the interim tag to claim her rightful spot at the helm.

 Since Alexis Aguirre was hired as Assistant Softball Coach, EAC has seen significant achievements. They were ACCAC Co-Champions in 2016, hosted the Regional Tournament, and made it to the National Championship in 2018. They've consistently placed in the Region I Tournament. In 2023, EAC hosted Regionals and clinched the Region I Title, the ACCAC DI Title, and the West District Regional Title, securing their spot in the National Championship.

Currently, the team boasts an impressive 18-2 conference record and 25-7 overall record, with recent victories over Central Arizona on Tuesday, April 9th. They are tied for 2nd place in the ACCAC with Pima Community College.

The official announcement from Athletic Director Paul Demuth came on Wednesday, April 10th, congratulating Coach Aguirre on her permanent appointment as head coach.
