Women's Soccer Fall to Nationally Ranked Arizona Western

The women's soccer team traveled to Yuma, Arizona to play Arizona Western, a strong nationally ranked #11 team. AZW carried a large number of experienced Sophomores making it a tough competition for the young Eastern Arizona College team.

"We lost 6-0 but we did have several chances to score and finished strong with the last 20 minutes holding possession. We barely missed two great opportunities to score." says, Coach Long.

Arizona Western was a very physical, fast, and experienced team utilizing their home field.

"We unfortunately had a few injuries for our team, but it was a great learning experience for us as we prepare for our next game on the road Tuesday," says Coach Long.

First-year Eastern Arizona women's soccer has a 5-2-2 record with only losses coming from top nationally ranked teams.

The Lady Monsters hit the road Tuesday, September 19th to play Glendale Community College at 5:00 pm. Go Monsters!
