Bio

In her debut season as head coach in 2023-24, Coach Alexis Aguirre led Eastern Arizona College Softball to remarkable success, guiding the team to an ACCAC Conference Championship title, hosting the Region I final, and finishing as Region I Runner-Up. For her outstanding leadership, Aguirre was named ACCAC Head Coach of the Year.

Aguirre joined EAC in January 2016 as an assistant softball coach. A Tucson native, she graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School in 2012 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University. That same summer, her travel ball team, Desert Thunder 18U Fowler, won the National Championship at the Women’s College World Series Complex in Oklahoma City.

As a player, Aguirre spent one year at Yavapai College before transferring to Eastern Arizona College in 2015. That season, EAC Softball was the ACCAC Co-Champion, hosted and won the Region I Championship, and finished 4th at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

Since joining the coaching staff, Aguirre has helped guide the program to multiple accomplishments, including an ACCAC Co-Championship in 2016, a National Tournament appearance in 2018, and consistent placements in the Region I Tournament. In 2023, EAC Softball earned the ACCAC DI Title, the Region I Title, and the West District Regional Title, securing another National Championship appearance. The program has also earned NJCAA All-Academic honors for multiple consecutive years.

In the 2024-25 season, Aguirre once again led EAC to an ACCAC Championship title, hosted the Region I Championship, and was named ACCAC Head Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
