Eastern Arizona Baseball Extends Win Streak to Nine

Eastern Arizona College's baseball team is on fire, extending their winning streak to nine games and improving their overall record to 21-15 with an 11-10 mark in conference play. Over the break, the Gila Monsters dominated Community Christian in a three-game series, winning each contest in just five innings with commanding scores of 21-0, 14-1, and 12-1. They followed up by defeating Langley Blaze in a pair of high-scoring matchups, 11-8 and 12-1.

The team carried their momentum into Saturday's doubleheader against Phoenix College. In game one, Eastern Arizona secured an 11-9 victory behind a stellar performance from Reece Van Devander, who racked up four hits, two runs, and an impressive seven RBIs. Jalen Ryan also contributed with two runs. On the mound, Nolan Berkram struck out four batters over 2.0 innings pitched, while Sebastian Orozco recorded two strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work.

Game two showcased the Gila Monsters' dominance as they shut out Phoenix College 11-0 in just five innings. Andrew Lee led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Jalen Ryan crossed home plate four times. Miles Vandenheuvel had a standout performance, tallying three hits, three runs, and three RBIs. Pitcher Brandon Napier played a key role in the shutout, throwing 4.0 innings and striking out three batters.

With their confidence soaring, Eastern Arizona will now set their sights on a crucial two-day series against Arizona Western in Yuma, AZ, on March 28. As the Gila Monsters continue their hot streak, they look to strengthen their position in conference play and keep their momentum rolling into the latter part of the season.
