Bio

Jayse Burkett, a native of Benson, Arizona, is the current pitching coach at Eastern Arizona College. He holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from Utah Valley University, where he also pitched for two years. During his time at Utah Valley, Burkett achieved a career-high of six strikeouts in a game, with notable performances against Arizona State and BYU.

Before transferring to Utah Valley, Burkett spent three successful seasons at Phoenix College under Coach Kevin Kimball. He pitched 88.1 innings, maintained a 3.80 ERA, recorded 87 strikeouts, and held a 7-3 record. His outstanding performance earned him Second Team All-ACCAC honors. Burkett was a key player in leading Phoenix College to back-to-back Region 1 Conference Championships and two appearances in the NJCAA World Series.

Burkett excelled in baseball and football as a standout athlete at Benson High School. In his senior year, he pitched 50 innings, posting a 1.69 ERA and striking out 66 batters, earning First Team All-Conference honors as pitcher and outfielder.

Born in Mesa, Arizona, Burkett's journey from a high school standout to a collegiate athlete, and now a coach, exemplifies his dedication to the sport of baseball.
