Eastern Arizona College (EAC) men's basketball team hosted the Region I/18 Challenge on November 8-9, featuring teams like Utah State Eastern, Arizona Western, and Snow College.
In Friday's game, EAC faced Utah State Eastern and secured a 71-54 victory. Freshman JT Elder led the team with 13 points and 5 assists, while Ryan Hunt contributed 6 rebounds. Snow College also took on Arizona Western that day, winning 94-70.
On Saturday, EAC went up against Snow College but fell short, losing 79-60. Sophomore Armari Carraway had an impressive game, scoring 24 points, with Kahu Treacher grabbing 4 rebounds and Tarrance Warren providing 5 assists. In other Saturday action, Arizona Western narrowly defeated Utah State Eastern 63-60 before EAC's game.
The Gila Monsters will hit the road this week, traveling to Liberal, Kansas, to face Seward, followed by games at Otero and Laramie. EAC returns home on November 20 to host Arizona Western.
