
EAC Softball Wins Three of Four Against Arizona Western
The Eastern Arizona College softball team traveled to Yuma, Arizona, over the weekend to take on Arizona Western in a four-game series. The Monsters came away with three wins, improving to 3-1 in conference play.
EAC opened the series with a narrow 5-6 loss in game one but responded with a dominant 4-0 shutout victory in game two. Day two saw even stronger performances from the Monsters, as they claimed a 9-6 win, followed by a 7-3 victory to secure the series win.
Mia Carbonell contributed four RBIs, while Madeline Reed added four runs and two RBIs. Tagiilima Horsely had an outstanding weekend, recording four runs and six hits.
On the mound, Taylor Christensen pitched 6.1 innings with three strikeouts, Marianna Zumerie threw seven innings and notched three strikeouts, and Destanee Nez struck out four batters in her complete-game performance.
The Monsters now look ahead to their next matchup against Yavapai College at home on March 7, where they will play a noon doubleheader.
