Lady Monsters Take Three of Four Against College of Southern Nevada
THATCHER, Ariz. – The Eastern Arizona College softball team dominated their home series against the College of Southern Nevada, winning three out of four games over the two-day matchup on March 28 and 29.
The Lady Monsters opened the series with an 11-1 victory in five innings, capped off by a walk-off three-run homer from Taylor Christensen. Christensen had a standout performance with six RBIs, while Gianna Villegas contributed three hits, and Tagiilima Horsely added two hits and two runs. Pitcher Destanee Nez went the distance, allowing just three hits and one unearned run while striking out three batters.
Game two saw EAC continue their momentum with a 9-6 win, holding off a late push from CSN to secure the victory. However, the Lady Monsters stumbled in game three, falling 3-1 as their offense struggled to find its rhythm against CSN's pitching.
The series finale turned into a thriller, with EAC pulling off a dramatic 14-13 walk-off victory. Christensen once again led the offensive charge, finishing the game with four runs, five hits, and four RBIs. Nez delivered another strong performance in the circle, recording five strikeouts.
With the series win, Eastern Arizona improves to a 19-8 overall record and a 10-2 mark in conference play. The Lady Monsters will look to keep their momentum going as they host Arizona Western on April 4 and 5.
