Lady Monsters Advance to Region I Final After Gritty Semifinal Victory

The Eastern Arizona College Lady Monsters are one step closer to a championship after securing a hard-fought victory in the NJCAA Division I Region I Semifinal on Saturday, March 8. Hosting Cochise College, EAC battled through a tough first half before pulling away in the second, clinching their spot in the Region I Final.

Sophomore Eanae Dagons led the charge for the Lady Monsters, delivering a standout performance with 24 points. On the defensive end, sophomore Millie Pearson was a force to be reckoned with, racking up 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Cochise College made things difficult early on, holding a narrow 24-21 lead at halftime. However, the Lady Monsters came out strong in the second half, taking control of the game and securing the win in front of their home crowd.

With this victory, EAC advances to the Region I Final, where they will once again play on their home court on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. Their opponent, the College of Southern Nevada, pulled off a stunning 76-75 upset over top-seeded Arizona Western to earn their spot in the championship game.

The stakes couldn't be higher, as the winner of Wednesday's matchup will punch their ticket to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Fans are encouraged to pack the stands and wear black to support the Lady Monsters in this crucial showdown.
